ELMHURST, IL, January 14, 2020 — Elmhurst Centre for Performing Arts is pleased to be moving into the next phase of its growth and development by adding Shawna Roubitchek to their team as Managing Director and opening permanent office space at 105 South York Street in Elmhurst. “The opening of the new ECPA office and the addition of such a talented person as Shawna to the ECPA team as Managing Director is the natural next step in the process of creating the Centre for Performing Arts,” says ECPA Board President Jeff Budgell.

Roubitchek has been involved with ECPA since its inception, most recently as Co-Chair of the annual Spotlight Gala, ECPA’s largest fundraiser.  Roubitchek brings to the Managing Director position a wealth of experience in project management, hospitality and tourism, having worked at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Hyatt Hotels, and the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau. In her new role with ECPA, Roubitchek will be overseeing its operations, managing the current fundraising and outreach programs, as well as looking for additional ways to spread awareness and gain support for the development of a performing arts venue in the western suburbs. By Roubitchek handling these aspects of the business, it allows the ECPA board to concentrate on the upcoming capital campaign and naming rights needed to take ECPA to the next stage–building a state-of-the-art performing arts venue.

Both professionally and personally, Roubitchek is passionate about expanding the visibility of the arts in our community. “I’m excited to be a part of such an incredible initiative. In so many ways, the arts shape, change, and most importantly, enhance our lives. A performing arts center will be an impactful addition to our residents and those in the surrounding areas. For Elmhurst, to be the seat of something so wonderful…it’s quite rewarding on many levels.”

By coincidence or kismet, the new ECPA offices look directly at the future site of the Elmhurst Centre for Performing Arts at 109-119 First Street, allowing Roubitchek and the entire ECPA team to see their vision as it comes to life over the coming years.
